As someone from the Bay Area, the foliage in Autumn is completely different from the north east region. This album I want to highlight some of the stunning nature, plants trees bugs that exist. This album is trying to encompass what autumn feels like to me in the new England area. I chose to go for shallow depth of field for all of these because I believe it gives a more personal tone to the autumn feel. All of these photos where taken on a 50mm lens using f2.8 or lower aperture.
This Red Maple, one of the most common and widespread deciduous trees of eastern and central North America, is found between Shillman Hall and Raytheon Amphitheater. Every year, this tree turns beautiful shades of yellow, oranges and reds in Autumn. This tree is the embodiment of what I imagine autumn looking and feeling like.
The Arnold Arboretum, A 281-acre preserve in the heart of Boston, the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University stewards one of the world’s most comprehensive and best documented collections of temperate woody plants, with particular focus on the floras of eastern North America and eastern Asia.
Arnold arboretum is an Environmental Studies' wet dream. It is full of stunning flora, fauna and critters. Growing up I was always fascinated by the bugs on the ground, the smell of the earth and the mushrooms growing all around. Arnold brings me back to when I was a kid, being able to feel at ease with the nature right outside my doorstep. It is full of wonderful plants, bugs fungi, you name it and is a pleasure to go no matter the season.
