This collection are from different bands that I've seen both in Boston and in Berkeley. Consisting of house shows, yard shows and concerts in venues. While concert photography is not my expertise, nor is it something that I plan on doing in any meaningful way. I find it fulfilling to take pictures of my friends bands. Below are the results from various concerts and bands.
Primarily shot on:

These photo's were all taken at The Cornerstone in Berkeley, at a death metal concert. While death metal is not my preferred genre, nor is concert photography my niche I couldn't turn down the opportunity. Working part time editing metal podcasts for Brutally Delicious, gave me the opportunity to go and take photos from the concert live. While I don't know much about the bands, the lighting and aesthetic led to some really fun shots of the concert. I'm not sure I would do concert photography for a concert that is not a band that I know or for a friend.

Michele Leigh is a local Boston/Northeastern University Band. I was unexpectedly invited by Jo, a friend of mine who knows two of the band members (Guitarist & Drummer), to go and watch their performance. This happened to coincide with when my childhood friend Felix was visiting. This made not only a great opportunity to go see live music with Jo and Felix but to go see and support a friends band. This was the first real test of this film stock (Ilford Delta 3200), which I had never shot any sort of low light/high speed films before. Not only was the music stunning but the shots really add to the sort of grunge, yet upscale feel of the concert.

Being a friend of lots of environmental folk, funnily enough, leads me to surrounded by artists. Bugwife, a band with friends that I run into time and time again having shared classes with at least half of the members. Having just loaded in the new film in my camera I wanted to give a shot.
Half of my time was spent taking photo's while the other half was spent dancing around with some of my wonderful friends who joined me to watch. One special guest was Felix, who came all the way from Berkeley (on his trip to France) to visit.
A shout out to Catherine, who I embarrassingly forgot their name multiple times, while they know who I was. It will haunt me to this day... at least I was able to take some wonderful photos of them!

With only a few shots left on my camera, I made it down to Trillium/501 Park area to watch Jonathan, Taryn and Archie's band play. I wasn't sure what sort of vibe the pictures would give off when originally shooting. After seeing it now, It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of a band playing on a field on a warm summer day. I am incredibly happy with the tones of this stock of film especially for capturing scenes during the summer.
